Giving is the expression of your abundance to the universe. In fact you feel abundant when you give because when you give to another you are energetically giving back to yourself with love.

Because all things are one, your expression of giving is mirrored back into your life to which you cannot know how or in what way, but does so as you are the witnesser of your life.

Receiving is the expression of giving abundance to another. This is because when you receive a gift from another, you are gifting the giver the feeling of abundance that is felt when the giver is giving something to you. If you deny this gift, you are denying their abundance and block the flow of abundance in your life.
