When I finished high school and didn’t get the grades I needed to study medicine. When I failed my Science degree and questioned whether medicine was truly my dream calling and destiny. And when I finally graduated from medical school to become a doctor only to give the profession up in the realisation that perhaps I was searching for something else.

Today I am a personal development coach, a spiritual carer who ironically works in hospitals, a project manager of a world movement that is transforming people’s lives on the planet, and as you can see I am also a writer.

What am I searching for throughout all these career moves? Serving humanity. The truth is it doesn’t matter what you do in your life. What truly matters is where your heart takes you when you do them. To be heartful in the actions that you make in your life is really to selflessly offer yourself to others just to make another’s day that little bit brighter.

The reward of selflessness is a deeper connection to the divine presence that exists in you. When that is discovered, it becomes apparent that the deeper connection within you is in everyone else around you as well. In fact the realisation goes so deep that it recognises that everyone in your reality are in fact you as well. In a different form. Yet the same essence of all things.

The connectedness that I speak of is what got me through moments of anxious uncertainty in life. When your focus is placed on serving others, the pieces of your material future don’t matter. What matters is your present experience and enjoyment of the moment.

And just like that, another door opens.
