What does it mean to surrender? Is everything predetermined? Or do we direct our own destiny?
I would like to share an experience I had recently. I was healing through some emotional patterns in my family that caused me to take some time out and spend time in nature. So I went to a park, took my sleeping bag and spent the night there.
In the morning, I saw an old ancient tree and I felt drawn to its energy. So I approached it and placed my hand on it to absorb its wisdom. I looked up at it in gratitude, and continued on my way.
I then had breakfast with my cousin and we started talking about how everything could actually be predetermined. Meaning, even though we make decisions in our life, whatever we do doesn’t matter because the universe already knows our every step 10 times before we take it.
A stream flows and follows its journey into the immensity of a river. No matter what direction it takes, its destination will always end up in a larger stream that it too has its twists and turns to eventually return to the vastness of the ocean.
So why would our place in the universe be any different?
After breakfast, we later watched a movie called Bladerunner. And in the movie appeared a scene where the main character looks up at an old tree and places his hand on it in the same way I did earlier in the day.
In that moment of realisation, I had discovered what it meant to ‘surrender’. Surrender is really accepting the truth of our reality that our every decision in life is already predetermined by us. Sure, in the moment, our decisions in life are crucial and life changing, however, because we are existing inside a cosmic flow that has already determined its own destination, the decisions we make in life does not matter.
In a way your soul has already predetermined its destiny. When you surrender to this inevitability, there is a freedom that arises that allows you to embody the cosmic flow itself.
Love to you ♥️♥️
