“When the wise man hears of the Way, he tries hard to follow it. When the average person hears of the Way, he tries to keep it, but eventually loses it. When those who are ignorant hear of the Way, they just laugh. If people didn’t laugh at it, it wouldn’t be the Way.”

The wise man is the truth seeker. The one who has a taste of reality that our life is a momentary illusion, and thirsts hungrily for its answer.

The average person is one who has had glimpses of the truth to this world, but eventually succumbs to the lure of certainty that our reality projects as truth.

And to those who laugh at the notion that God does not exist, do so because without ignorance, the truth would be forever concealed to those who seek to find it.
