What are worldly desires?

The Way refers to the Divine. To be one with the way requires the discipline of non-attachment to worldly desire.

What are worldly desires?

It’s anything that you seek pleasure from that does not come from within yourself. This could be something that is material such as a car, a home, a dress, gold.

It could be the attachment of a pleasurable moment, a memory, a thought that you hold onto because you are afraid that no better moment awaits you if you do let it go.

The attachment to what is outside of you takes your attention away from what is within you.

What is within you is immovable. Its source nourishes you. In this immovable source, you will only experience freedom.

“Following the Way is to be non-attached to worldly things. You will be in harmony with the Way when you no longer see the difference between sorrow and good fortune.”
Lord Krishna, The Bhagavad Gita
