Today I’ve been presented with the stark reality of how powerful mother earth is. The day is dark, smoke billowing from bush fires all over Australia has covered the skies. And it is so inescapable that the scent of burning ash wreaks through the house.

Yet this is not my immediate concern that life has presented to me. A second family member passing away since the start of 2020, and another gravely ill.

Rumours of war circulates elsewhere across the globe as Australia’s bushfires cleanses the earth.

I sense we are only seeing the beginning of something far greater. The old ways must be destroyed for a new earth to be born. Why?

Mankind has angered the Earth. This is not the first time it has happened. Perhaps you were there when it happened once before? When great civilizations fell. When the Earth rebirthed itself emerging from its death in the same way we emerge from death by being birthed into the experience of this world.

Have you ever contemplated what you are doing here? In this reality. Most of humankind is so preoccupied with the day to day necessities of life and the preservation of our lifestyle, that we avoid the most eminent question that all people are confronted with, what happens when we die? What gives rise to our birth? Do we just randomly appear here?

The answer is No. There is nothing random about it. The stories, historical documentations, mythologies throughout the aeons are not made up stories of the past. They are being experienced through us in this moment.

Everything is cyclical. Creation is formed through the process of death, existence, and rebirth. A never-ending eternal process of experiencing the same experience in different ways.

The Earth and the Universe will do what it does as it has done so many times before. We as humans have a choice to conform to the powers that be: Planet Earth itself which is just as alive and has a consciousness just as you and me. Or we can continue to resist it for our own greed and self-pleasure. The path to freedom for humanity is to surrender to what is, and co-exist as loving beings that acknowledge the one connection all of us have to one another.

For those that choose to live in separation, who compete and identify themselves as different to one another, will see more destruction and suffering. Those who choose to unite as one people will see the same destruction and will navigate through it to birth a new world for the planet.
