Why opening your heart can be one of the most challenging things you can do to be free.

To open the heart means you are willing to allow yourself to be seen. It means that innately, bodily, physically, you are unafraid of the reactions and judgements of others through the way that you show up in your life.

It can be easy to live freely and just be YOU. And that’s simply not thinking about anything other than the present momentary experience of your reality.

So why is this hard to do? Since birth, humanity is programmed into believing certain rules and societal values that inadvertently gives you the idea that you are judged by others. That you are separate and in competition to one another.

There is another program that you were born with which is the truth to your very existence. In that truth is simply the fact that you exist. The basis of that existence is to love. To love is to open the heart. This should come naturally to us but it doesn’t because of years of societal conditioning where we forget our internal greatness and fleetingly search for this greatness outside of ourselves in a neverending cycle.

The challenge is in overcoming the desire to search for answers.
Instead, lovingly accept the present moment in every moment with no expectation of what arises.

“There are two eternals paths in this universe. One is of light, the other of darkness. The first leads to freedom from the wheel of birth, death and rebirth; the other leads back to this world once more.”
Lord Krishna, The Bhagavad Gita
